Vanessa’s English Class – Summer Memories at the Gaodian Library

This summer, Stepping Stones volunteer Vanessa brought her passion and expertise to the English summer camp at the Gaodian Library, providing the children with an unforgettable learning experience.

On 23rd August, as the summer camp successfully concluded, we were delighted to see the significant progress in the children’s English skills under Vanessa’s attentive guidance. During the final session, Vanessa skillfully combined the themes of “Let’s talk about ourselves” and “Transportation”.

Her engaging teaching methods helped the children absorb new knowledge in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The children not only learned to introduce themselves confidently in English but also broadened their understanding of various kinds of transportation, bravely sharing their opinions in class.

As a member of Stepping Stones, Vanessa’s efforts go beyond improving the children’s English proficiency. She is also fostering their confidence and spirit of exploration. Witnessing the children’s transformation from being shy to becoming active participants in class brings great joy!

Here’s what the students’ parents have to say (translated from Chinese):

Although the summer camp has ended, Stepping Stones’ support for the children continues. We will carry on providing high-quality educational resources through the Rural Volunteering Program, helping the children journey even further on their path to knowledge!
