On December 29th, Target Corporation held a grant celebration for Stepping Stones at a partner kindergarten. Target Corporation is an American retailing company; the second-largest discount retailer in the United States. Target Corporation, a stable Stepping Stones sponsor for three years running, generously donated 25 thousand dollars to Stepping Stones. This funding will be used to further the Stepping Stones mission to provide better education for migrant students, specifically influencing their English learning.
The celebration lasted two hours and included speeches given by a Target senior staff member, Stepping Stones founding director, Corinne, and the principle of the kindergarten. The kindergarten children prepared some special performances for this celebration including singing, dancing and playing games. With more than 150 attendees, the celebration even drew attention from the surrounding neighborhood, attracting other students and their parents to join-in.
Due to the success of Target’s grant, Stepping Stones can continue its efforts in improving the quality of education for under-privileged children in Shanghai.
