The 4th of February was a festive night for Stepping Stones! Stepping Stones friends, volunteers and sponsors gathered together at Pistolera to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Tables were decorated with a colorful Mexican theme and all the Stepping Stones staff were ready to receive their guests wearing big sombreros covered with colorful bandanas. The guests trickled in early, eager to get the party started!
In no time, there was a full house, with a Mexican food aroma welcoming in the guests. Stepping Stones founding director, Corinne, officially welcomed everyone and shortly after, Shirley Maria Carranza, the sensational Colombian singer, took over. Shirley Maria quickly entranced the crowd with her dynamic voice, moving around the restaurant and encouraging the guests to get up and dance. Soon one and all were dancing along to famous salsa songs.
With a break for the singer, the guests were invited to compete in a placemat drawing and crossword contest. Raffle tickets were also available for purchase and many were hoping to win one of the great prizes. The long prize list included: a Ferrari vintage umbrella, Ferrari stationery, Ferrari F1 Silk Tie, Song Fang tea pots and tea, Kingday king-size warm blankets, vouchers for Dragonfly Therapeutic 1 Hour Aroma Oil Massage, dinners at Ginger, Pure Fields exotic organic matsutake & porcini mushrooms, lunches at Pret A Manger and an Ecobibi gift. Some of our generous sponsors were at the event to help hand out the raffle prizes to the winners!
The 80 guests ate and drank throughout the evening, enjoying the relaxed mood and especially the free flow margaritas. The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of latin music, encouraging everyone to chat and make new friends. Guests left full and happy with goodie bags filled with Pret A Manger gifts and discount coupons for shops around Shanghai.
